Praise me, hail me!

It stuns me, how blatantly foolish people can be sometimes. Parental judgement for video games has apparently diminished... Why, oh why, is it alright for a child to buy a war video game, but not okay to buy something with sexual content, or language? Shouldn't they all be around the same level of taboo for a younger kid? What's worse is the parents that complain about cursing in war games.
... uhm.
Last time I checked (and this is working with two vets), soldiers didn't say asinine things like "oh gumdrops!" and "gosh and golly" ... they fucking curse. You would too if people were shooting at you or generally trying to kill you.
Okay, look, I understand not wanting your child to pick up bad habits. I curse like a sailor, and really, it's completely inappropriate. But, don't buy that same child a video game about war. Then, you won't have to worry about them picking up any language.
A similar situation I ran into: I was berated for a 9-year old buying a teen rated video game (that no one at our store sold, btw) by his (apparent) Grandparents. I politely explained that we are not required to get parental approval for selling anything under a mature rated game. And they insisted that we *should*... Honestly, if you're that worried about your child/grandchild being sold games that are not appropriate for them, DON'T LET THEM WANDER A SHOPPING PLAZA BY THEMSELVES. We shouldn't have to babysit your offspring. YOU need to be watching over your child and deciding if it's appropriate for them, not shoving money at them and letting them go wherever they want.
In better news, reviews are coming up, which means maybe possibly a raise. I got pennies last year, so I don't expect anything that great this year either. But, Marc got a raise with notes about how he had a good staff.... So, hopefully, that'll reflect in our reviews. Not raising my hopes, though, lol, or else I'll be disappointed. (Oh, and never let a coworker tell you what a superior's raise is. Your self-esteem will be crushed)
H-Have I completely lost interest in WoW? I haven't gone on in so long, even now that dual-spec is out. I-I hope not. It seems kind of depressing!!
It's past 1 in the morning, and I think it's still 60 degrees outside. Augh. I know I wanted it to warm up, but this is ridiculous
Company-wide, we lost our ability to run credit cards this morning. Damn, how obnoxious was that?? But, for the most part, the day was really slow, so it wasn't too much of a loss. And I marvelously accomplished a grand total of NOTHING today at work - it was quite an impressive feat, if I do say so myself!
So, I was entertained the first couple of hours on the internetz, but after having been on for ... hm... 7 hours now, I'm getting extraordinarily bored. Yes, even I can only look at Hetalia stuff for so long in a row before growing listless. Need some action to wake me up.. Put my iTunes on shuffle, hoping some random loud song would come on and jolt me awake, but no such luck at this point.
Marc and I had a debate today about what makes you a hero. Lol, we're still of differing opinions, and Miriam Webster did not help 8U. I had to laugh (all Hetalia's fault), because Marc concluded that if you are killed because you withhold information in order to prevent others being hurt, you're a hero, where I said that's not heroic because you *should* withhold information if it'll hurt others. I-It just reminded me of Germany and Italy from Hetalia when they were caught and questioned. I guess we Germans are too set in our ways about divulging information? I dunno, I just thought it was interesting that we kinda mirrored our heritage countries in Hetalia.
Ah well, off to go stare aimlessly at my computer!!
