These are all so short -_- And Yusaku is weird.
“You know, 25 is an unlucky year, Jotaru. You shouldn’t set anything major up for the rest of the year.”
Jotaru blinked, and pulled his cell away from his ear for a moment, looking at it as though it would explain the strange statement from Yusaku-san.
“…Huh?” was the only coherent thing he could think to say.
“25. It’s an unlucky age. Don’t do anything important, okay?”
Again, there was a pause, and Jotaru just shrugged to Blair at his curious look. “Did you call just for that, Yusaku-san?”
Suddenly, Yusaku’s voice shifted from ‘worried mother’ to ‘mischievous friend’ and Jotaru got nervous. “Well, I know you and Blair-kun have gotten really serious lately.” A blush from Jotaru, and Blair raised an eyebrow. “You should save your marriage for next year! Mamoru and I’ll even help with the planning”
“Y-Yusaku-san… W-We haven’t even talked about that…”
“Oh good! I know you and Blair-kun will be very happy, and we don’t want you getting off on the wrong foot!” Yusaku knew such random things… “Of course, if you’re really insistent about getting married when you’re this age, I’m sure we can visit one of the Shinto shrines in your area for a yakuyoke”
At that point, Jotaru just nodded and agreed occasionally, too shell-shocked to argue. After all, he and Blair hadn’t even discussed the issue of getting married, and to think Yusaku-san was worried about bad luck! After their discussion ended, and he hung up, all he could say to Blair was “…. So, Yusaku-san and Mamoru-san are going to plan our wedding….”
Blair could just stare, even more confused than Jotaru.
Just for knowledge, a yakuyoke is when a Shinto shrine purifies you of your personal bad luck for a fee.
