Not a good idea
Jan. 19th, 2010 10:39 amI really dislike the Maury show. Not because nine out of ten episodes are the same, not because Maury is a creepster, not because of a personal event that still annoys me to this day (I'll cover that in a second). No, I dislike it because every time, no matter what, Maury always asks the wronged person "What will it take for you two to get back together?" Most of you probably know by now, I cannot tolerate cheating. It carries into most of my characters (Mitsuru is the most prominent, probably), and I fully believe "once a cheater, always a cheater." But Maury always asked the person that was cheated on, or abused, why oh why they won't even consider getting back with that person. WTF.
So, the personal event I mentioned. You may not know this, but a friend of mine was on Maury's tv show =_=; yes, it's quite embarrassing. I was in school, worried for her because she was "out sick" for days in a row... and she was on a tv show. Talking about how she was being bullied in high school. Sigh. Okay, I hate to say this about someone I knew and was best friends with from a young age to... oh, probably around this event.. but she was really the kind of person that picked fights, was violent, and harrassed girls that she thought her boyfriends were cheating on. But when she was caught, and on the verge of getting in trouble, would play the victim.
All in all, not a big deal though. If she feels like she needs to go on a tacky tv show and claim she was being bullied, it's none of my business.
Oh, but then it gets better. My mom taped this, you see, because she happened to be channel-surfing that day and came across it! And when I got home, she showed me the video, because she said she found something really outrageous on it.
When asked about her friends in high school, she named me! AWWWWW, how nice, you think. But. No. She goes on to say that I was always surrounded by people, and that I would never allow her to hang out with me when I was with my friends, leaving her all by herself... .... .......... What. For starters, she was always having parties at her house. Pretty much every weekend, she had several people over. At this time, I had maybe three friends, her included. +_+;;;
Maury says, to the screen, that I needed to be a better friend, and that I should start letting her spend more time with me.... I.. I can't believe it +_+; This was so long ago, and I still can't believe it.
A-Augh, I got on a bad rant topic because I happened to run across the Maury show on tv ;;;
