So, was bored tonight, and there was nothing to do. I played Dynasty Warriors 6 for a while today, finishing Dian Wei's storyline, and then played some Devil Survivor, and yet still no one to talk to. So, I thought, time to write one of these prompts!
Original Meme entry: [Here]
Fandom: "Irishverse" a sub-species of Punz AU
Prompt: loyd/Karasu, Irishverse , drabble, diet
Characters: Lloyd and Karasu
Warnings: none!
Notes: I may have played some things up for the comedy factor. And, parts of Karasu's tastes that I was not familiar with... I totally made up! Sorry if it doesn't match him ;;;
Lloyd leaned back from where he was stuffing some vegetables into the refrigerator to stare at Karasu. For his part, Karasu merely continued to calmly put water into the tea kettle, and then placed it on the stove, ramping the heat up to it’s highest setting.
“… What are you doing?” Karasu’s actions were fairly straightforward, easily obvious, but…
“Making some instant noodles. You have some, right?” Karasu moved to one of the cabinets of the kitchen, tilting his head this way and that when each continued to be devoid of any sort of instant noodle delight.
“No.”
Karasu lowered his arm and looked at Lloyd with his version of ‘aghast’ to which Lloyd merely continued to stare at him. “You have none?”
“I don’t eat it, and my parents eat on the road so much that when they are home, I usually make something after school for them.” He continued with “I can make you something better,” when Karasu looked like he might break for the window in an attempt to find some sane place that carried one of the most marvelous foods in existence.
Despite being skeptical, Karasu didn’t leap out the window. But he did edge closer, just in case Lloyd was lying. Or wrong.
The young teen merely sighed, reaching for some fresh noodles he’d also picked up from the convenience mart down the road. He’d intended on just making something small before going out to the nearby skate park, but he’d run into Karasu and invited him over instead.
He had no idea that the boy would want… such a food, and he had no intention of offering to go pick some up. Ugh, who in the world would eat the “cup noodle” anyway? He’d been offered it once and had been somewhat appalled by it.
He was no gourmet, of course, but if you had access to fresh why would you want something that you had to reconstitute merely to eat?
He watched his friend shift from foot to foot, clearly waiting for him to explain himself. Well, if he had to make it for Karasu to show him that fresh was better, then so be it. He held up the fresh package of noodles. “This. I am going to use this”
A flat look was his initial answer, before Karasu frowned -Lloyd would almost say pouted- and furrowed his eyebrows. “That’s the same thing I was just asking for. Without the flavors”
… Sigh.
“I can add whatever flavor you want.”
“Curry.” The statement was more of a question, as if Karasu was daring Lloyd to say he could.
“Yeah, I have that.”
“Egg and octopus!”
“Ugh, but if you insisted, yes.”
“Chocolate!”
“…”
“Okay, fine, I’ll take curry.” Nodding, Lloyd placed the package of noodles on the counter, looking through his cabinets for the ingredients for that really good curry he’d made the other week. Karasu continued to look at him, curiosity slowly winning over skepticism as Lloyd cooked.
---------------------------
“Woah, this is really good.” Karasu stared at his plate, wondering why he’d never had Lloyd make him something like this before. He knew the other teen could cook, to at least some extent, so…
“You sound surprised,” Lloyd said from across the table, eating his own portion. He was more fond of rice with his curry, but this wasn’t a bad option.
“I am!” Ignoring Lloyd’s scoff of rejection, he took another bite. “I didn’t think it would taste better than the instant kind!”
“… Okay, that does it. For the next week, I’m making all of your meals. You need a serious diet change if you think instant foods are the be-all-end-all.” He was a bit annoyed at that surprise, but when he looked up and saw just how excited Karasu looked at the prospect of home-made meals by him, he actually had to smile a bit. It wouldn’t be too bad…
