Okay, this question is for you Avatar fans.

On a break from playing Meet the Robinsons for my 360, I left the tv on. Now, I don't really watch Avatar, so I'm completely behind in the series. But it was on, so I figured 'whatever' and let it play.

Lots of Zuko+Aang stuff. Sokka+Zuko too.

But to my original question: why in the world do people like Katara? She is the probably one of the most obnoxious characters on the entire show. Very unlikable, I disliked her the moment I saw the first episode; she's the entire reason I don't watch Avatar and didn't really give it a chance.

(Okay, I also dislike Misty/Kasumi and Winry. A lot. Oh, and Kairi too. So, I guess it's that type of personality that I inherently dislike)

Parts without Katara are tolerable for me, maybe even entertaining to an extent.

There needs to be a way that someone can just turn certain characters invisible when you watch, lol.

Okay. I mentioned in my journal how disappointed I was because this new season bastardized Katara. She has always been very caring and motherly, and then, as soon as Zuko showed up, they had to make her this monster (to cater to the ZukoKatara fans) who just yelled at Aang. It pisses me off so bad. I would say that you just picked a wrong episode to watch, but if you didn't like Katara from the beginning, then I don't have a say.

I love Katara, and I ship AangKatara. I think it's adorable, and I've roleplayed Katara before. She is my favorite character on the show, and she is pushed aside for crazy yaoi fans who want to pair up Zuko and Aang (barf). I am absolutely miserable about the fact that her whole personality changed in one season. So mad!

I do ship ZukoSokka/SokkaZuko lots. Though I don't like Zuko much either. He's gotten better, but, to me, HE was always the most obnoxious person on the show. And he went from crazy psycho bastard to nice trying to be a good guy emo person. That, I can understand entirely, and he doesn't piss me off as much as he used to.

I absolutely cannot stand Toph or Azula. The girls on this show are kind of bleh. I loved Katara and Tsuki, but Tsuki turned into the moon and Katara was stripped from all her dignity. Katara is wise, friendly, able to handle herself, and still just a bit vulnerable enough that she isn't a total bitch. I love her interaction with Aang, and even when she tries to console Toph. I'm sorry you don't like her, but I'm not surprised. We really have different tastes in characters.

Every time I've seen her, to be honest, she's come off as the stereotypical "I'm a girl, and thus better than the boys" character. I dislike that so much, and it's always in pretty much every series. The male characters always end up being either stupid or childish or useless, while the girl is always the smart one.

Okay, guys are dumb, lol. But this whole make them inferior to the girl characters is annoying.

I think... if it wasn't the stereotypical two guys and one girl set up, I probably would have been more lenient towards her (but she's still not likable to me).

Don't know much about Toph nor Azula. That's the Earth bender and Zuko's sister respectively, right? Azula seems to be the 'stereotypical bitchy sister' character, and Toph... if she is the Earth bender then she's never really had a memorable personality to me.

As I don't really REALLY watch the show, I don't have a favorite character.

But the small parts I have seen, it kinda annoys me with the ZukoKatara stuff. It's kind of unbelievable. It's a lot like the MiyakoKen stuff from Digimon 2. Kinda makes you go 'buh? why do people think they like each other?'

Lol, also I can see how you don't like the Zuko+Aang stuff. It really seems to be a Rival!pairing from the parts that I've seen.
