Warning, general bitchiness ahead D8>
Oct. 7th, 2008 11:24 pmLady luck... is not on my side today.
SO, I was all set to have a good day. I learned a lot about Tim Drake last night, found some awesome pics of him on Deviant Art....
But Nooooo, I can't have a good day apparently 8|
So, it's that time of the month, right? >8|; Meaning I can't sleep very well cause of... well, let's just say it'd be messy >8|;;; Problem number one: lack of decent sleep.
I usually set my alarm for two times ten minutes apart, and set my cell phone alarm for the mid-way point between those two. Today, I wake up to Shining Collection raping my ears with no prior warning from my alarm clock. Turns out, I didn't set my alarm clock. Problem number two: if I hadn't picked such a LOUD song, would have never woken up to open store.
Problem number three: EVERY. DAMN. RED. LIGHT. THERE.
I wasn't supposed to be in until 9:30 this morning, which gave me time to go grab strawberry hot chocolate from Starbucks. Mmmm. Makes it feel like not such a bad day. Alright, we're off on the right foot now!
However, I'm in the back counting systems and merchandise when I hear knocking. I'm not clocked in yet, but since I'm there and know what to do, I can get an early start.... but that doesn't mean I'm gonna deal with customers before we're open, let alone before I'm even on the clock.
After a minute or two, and a phone ringing, I finally finish and exit the backroom. .... Problem number four: Our District Manager is the one knocking on the front door. WUT.
'You're going to help me correct counts today!' he says. .... WUT. Problem number five: DM is gonna be at the store for most of the day.
He has me run around between customers and his stupid tasks the whole day, and steals two or three reserves from me. And THEN convinces one of our former employee's younger brother to cancel three reserves. Problem number six: Our DM doesn't care how he screws up our numbers.
Marc finally arrives and gets the DM's attention off me. But now I have to rush to have my lunch, because they need to have a conference call and Marc always needs to attend. 8| Used to that, but now the store is a mess because the district manager doesn't know how to properly gut games. Problem number seven: DM has no entry-level skills whatsoever.
Fast forward to an hour later, after the call.... Remember those counts I'm supposed to help correct? Problem number eight: DM's hard drive messes up and LOSES ALL THE CORRECTIONS I DID.

>8| You've got to be kidding me. At this point, the dm leaves with me and Marc just staring at each other like WTF? Aside from cleaning up all that crap the dm left around, we've got trade ins to process, several store-to-store transfers to do, and counts to verify that everything is being displayed properly.
.... I just snagged a copy of Guilty Gear 2: Overture, and some Italian Chicken sammiches from BK and came home after doing whatever I could on the clock.
Problem number nine: MY LIPS ARE SO CHAPPED >_<
And, if that's not enough things to add up to a bad day... Problem number ten: So much traffic on the way home that it too me an hour to get back from the store, when normally it's at most a half hour trip.
Yeah, nothing terribly horribly life altering, but it all adds up to a craptacular day.
