So, has everyone seen the new trailer for Cataclysm?

Well, if you haven't, this is gonna be SO full of spoilers! So, if you don't wanna be spoiled by me, then watch that above link!

Okay! So. There's a lot to talk about the new expansion. I'm hearing claims that it's coming out this November, but Gamestop's reservation date sets it at next November. As excited as I am for the new content, I heard so much is going to be changed... I want time to finish the low-level content that I have yet to finish! I can't do all that by November, and I HATE when Blizzard takes out stuff that I really want but haven't been able to obtain due to lack of people.

The big reveal? The world will be terraformed, and two new races are added. At first, I didn't understand why they were taking a massively neutral (because they love money from anyone) class, and a massively hostile class (they're werewolves ;; ) and giving them to the factions. And, honestly, don't werewolves seem to suit the idea of the horde better? But, watching the trailer, I see how they're doing it, and they're not just making Booty Bay and Gadgetzan (and what have you) into Horde cities. ... well, maybe they are, but that's the fault of the terraforming if it happens at all. Instead, they are having the Worgen of Gilneas join the Alliance, and the goblins of the mid-seas (?) join the horde.

Better make sure you all get your Loremaster achievement, since we don't know if that will stay around for you to get it after this!

The trailer itself talks of how the war against the Lich King still rages, which concerns me for a few reasons that will probably be answered soon enough. Firstly, that could indicate that the expansion is actually coming out for this holiday season. Secondly, if it's not coming out this holiday season, does that mean we're really in for another year of not fighting Arthas, not defeating Arthas...? And finally, even if we are fighting Arthas, is everyone gonna drop the fight against the Scourge to go and attack Deathwing?

Speaking of Deathwing, I noticed a dragon in the Blasted Lands that I'd never encountered before, Teremus the Devourer. I was on my Death Knight, riding to the portal to raise my Skinning to 375, and decided to open the area for free experience, since everything was too weak for me anyway. But, as I was traveling, I came upon him floating over a mini-crater, acting like he was fighting someone, but nothing was there. So I thought that maybe he glitched, and was going about taking screenshots of him, since I'd never seen him before. I come back to the game after pasting the picture somewhere, and I'm half dead from him ;;; Seemed he wasn't glitched. Anyway, I tried to fight back, just to see if it was possible... And although he was skulled to me, I actually made a noticeable dent in his health, even though I thought I wouldn't. I think I'll head there again as my Paladin, and hopefully kill him.

There is also going to be changes to race-bound classes. The trailer very obviously shows a Tauren paladin. So, I can't tell if that means all races can be all classes, or if only a select few will be freed up (Don't give Paladin to everyone if all classes aren't free DX I want a blood elf druid >8D ). If every race can be every class, I'm not ashamed to admit I will make all 9 of my characters blood elves. ;;; Elam will stay an undead rogue, merely cause I've put a lot of good effort into him!

The new profession, archaeology, looks promising. And to make things even better, the profession is SECONDARY. That means, no giving up mining and engineering, or whatever you might have. You can learn it with cooking and first aid, so anyone and everyone can earn the pets and the extra glyph spots, while also obtaining schematics/recipes for professions that are already around.

All in all, I'm excited about the expansion. I wonder if they will have a collector's edition...

You can count on a collector's edition, definitely.

No, paladins won't be available to every race, they're making 11 more race/class combinations available to play.

No, Cataclysm won't be released this year, 3.3 with Icecrown still has to come out at some point. My prediction is middle of May, Gamestop just puts dates so they can start accepting preorders. :P
