We had a Buy Two, Get One free sale this weekend, and I used it to buy the games for the PSP I had set aside. I was being teased by the guys because I had nine games put aside, and said I wanted to only get as much as the $100 left over from the sale of my Wii got me. And they all were like "8D Good luck with that haha"
... I got all nine games with enough money left over to reserve the Persona 1 remake coming out for PSP 8) I was so excited.
Watching Sengoku Basara because I keep seeing really awesome looking doujinshi for it. The characters are, for the most part, similar to other renditions of them. It's weird having Uesegi Kenshin be a bishounen with Paku Romi's voice, though.
And the kunoichi that serves him is really ... annoying. Her outfit is hideous (why hello thar boobs --;; ) and she's all 'boohoo, Kenshin-sama doesn't play with me, he's too focused on that Takeda guy. He should focus on me because my only personality trait is having boobs' ;;; You're not even in history, babe. She's not even a bad-ass ninja (hi Sasuke <3;; ), she just runs around so that the jiggle factor kicks in 8| And what the hell happens when Kenshin compliments her? ;;;; She, like, has a flower-petal orgasm or something ;;;;;
EDIT: It seems all of the female characters in this are either just eye-candy, or unpleasant personality types. ;;; Hm. I mean, whatever, it gives me more yaoi-fuel, but still...
EDIT #2: ... hm, Honestly! I think Kenshin is just screwing with Kasuga. You know, boob-ninja. He just randomly, out of the blue lauds her with compliments about how beautiful she is and yada yada yada, and despite Paku Romi's sexiness, it just comes off as fake ;;; He's much more sincere sounding in the next moment, when he's talking to Keiji.
Masamune is awesome as usual, and I lol every time Yukimura and Shingen go all "Yukimura!""Oyakata-sama!""YUKIMURA""OYAKATA-SAMA!" ... and then proceed to lovingly beat the hell out of each other ;;; Masamune also speaks random English/Engrish, and rides a horse who's bridle is ... motorcycle handlebars and mufflers. Lol.
It's nice seeing Kojuro be a young man instead of some old guy ;;; And Ranmaru actually *looks* like a boy in this! As opposed to a girly boy. Though Mitsuhide .... ;;;;;; S-Scary.
EDIT:
Shingen Takeda: He's... a lot like the Shingen from Samurai Warriors, only younger, lol. He punches Yukimura a lot though, haha. It's mostly for humor value, because Yukimura just runs right back over.
Kenshin Uesugi: Complete turn-around from the stoic, rather ugly Kenshin from Samurai Warriors. He's still composed, but he's pretty and flirts(?) with Kasuga with no mercy. His outfit is an uglier version of the one in Samurai Warriors ;; Sorry, even Paku Romi can't make me like this version better.
Yukimura Sanada: He's hilarious in his intense loyalty to Shingen, but he's kinda stupid ;;; He is very gung-ho, so while it's kind of endearing, I also wanna punch him like Shingen 8D
Masamune Date: Kakkoize! He's really cool, and like I said earlier, he likes throwing out Engrish. HOWEVER, the Masamune from Samurai Warriors wins out on the fact that he's voiced by Hiyama Nobuyuki, and he just makes the role so much more awesome.
Kojuro Katakura: He looks a lot like Sakon Shima from Samurai Warriors 2, so that's a little distracting, haha. He's nothing like him, though, and I do like this version better than the somewhat whiny Kojuro of SW. The other Kojuro seemed helpless in the face of Masamune's decisions, though this one seems to exert some sway on Masamune.
Sarutobi Sasuke: There isn't a Sasuke in Samurai Warriors ;; So I guess this one is better (though my favorite is still from Samurai Deeper Kyo 8D ) It's pretty funny when he tells Yukimura that he (Yuki) fell for Masamune 8D
Kotarou Fuuma: He's been in this for, like, two minutes ;; But I like him better than the Samurai Warriors one; the SW Kotarou just rubs me the wrong way, and I can't explain it.
Keiji Maeda: He's a lot less of a giant force of nature than in SW, but I can't tell which I prefer. The SW one is loud, HUGE, and tough, but amicable... and this one is loud and tough, and amicable. So, I guess they tie!
Kasuga: ................................. Ugh. Nuff said. Though it was pretty funny how annoyed she got when Yukimura said she and Sasuke were fiances
Nagamasa Azai: Maybe I was just spoiled with Samurai Warriors, where he's a cute, well-meaning young man that's forced to choose between his brother-in-law, and the family he's sworn loyalty to, but this Nagamasa is an ass ;;;; I can understand how he'd be frustrated with Oichi always apologizing for things that aren't her fault, but he's not very ... affectionate? Gentle? with her.
Oichi: Her voice is so quiet ;;; I can hardly hear what she's saying, so I have to rely on subtitles with her. I prefer the cute Oichi from the first SW, though I feel for this Oichi.
Nobunaga Oda: He goes back to the standard use of his name by being the scary, all-evil super demon that games/anime so often show him as. N-Not really any depth in him.
Nou-hime: Doesn't seem to have any difference between this and Samurai Warriors. Except maybe more skin showing here ;;;;
Ranmaru Mori: I haven't seen much of him DX
Mitsuhide Akechi: KOWAI. He creeps me out a lot. I'm stunned he's such a evil seeming guy, with a scythe and everything. I mean, of course, he betrayed Nobunaga historically, so I suppose you could take that event either as him being a noble warrior who couldn't stand the evil of Nobunaga... or as a guy just being way more evil and taking down his lord. Lol ;;;;
I'm gonna have to buy Coraline when it comes out. Never got to see it D:
