Grilled cheese om nom nom

Universe: Disgaea
Pairing: Susumu/Holomakenai
Prompt: With You

Yeeeeaaaah, got another one finished. This is a bit longer than the last one. Uhm ::scratches back of head:: Dunno if I got Holo right. Don't flog me if he's wrong DX

Holomakenai worried his lower lip between his teeth as another gust of wind blew against the window of the cabin they were staying in. It wasn’t excessively windy out, but it was cold, and when the wind did blow, it must have been bitterly cold.

Once the major opposition to Laharl had been defeated, the troops under Drey had mostly split apart. Kazuma had stayed under Drey’s command, but most of the others had either returned to their own troop, like Perenia, or went on to receive their own personal missions from Laharl, such as himself and Susumu.

Of course, Susumu had always gone everywhere with him. So, now was no different…. Except for one small fact; Susumu had a new body. While in the throes of war, Holomakenai had never had a chance to fully take in Susumu’s new body, the form he had worked so hard to attain. But once they were able to work as a duo, sort of, they’d had a lot more time alone… And that allowed them to have a lot more intimate time together.

Holo blushed heavily as his mind began to wander into intriguing territory – territory that he probably shouldn’t be thinking about while in the middle of cooking. He stirred the stew in an over-exaggerated method to help get his mind out of the proverbial gutter.

Besides, there were more important things to think about. Things like getting Susumu to come in from the cold, even if just for a little while to warm up.

Glancing away from the stew again, he stared at a particular part of the roof – he knew Susumu was there, that exact spot he’d been in all day. For the first few hours, Holo had let him stay there. Sometimes, Susumu just found spots to perch upon and watched the horizon. But then, it had started to head into the later part of the day… and the temperature certainly wasn’t rising.

Firming his mouth into a straight line, he returned his eyes to the stew….
-----------------

“You’re going to freeze to death out here you know!” He probably would have sounded more authoritative if his teeth weren’t chattering the whole time.

Susumu’s eyes widened and he turned his head –not moving from his position somehow- and blinked at Holo. Holo, who had climbed up onto the roof with a bowl of stew in his hand, expression firmly stating that no, he was most certainly not cold, and no he was not chattering, so just shut up.

“Holo, what are you doing up here?” Susumu spun himself around, still crouched. He knew how much Holo hated the cold, so to be up on the roof in this weather had to be unbearable.

Holo plopped himself down next to Susumu, and stuck the bowl out to him. “Bringing you something warm; you must be cold,” while chanting ‘I’mnotcold’ over and over in his mind.

“… You could have just asked me to come inside.”

“Yeah, well, maybe this would get my point across easier.”

Susumu’s look softened, and he moved over to sit close to Holo. “Thank you for worrying.” Almost immediately, but with caution to not look like a total dork, Holo cuddled over to Susumu, who somehow managed to be very very warm.

His voice was muffled by Susumu’s arm as he said, “Just hurry and eat your stew so we can get off this really high roof out of the really cold weather.”
