Happy people
So, I think I've discovered just what is causing my lack of joy in playing Halo. There's not really any tactical play involved. Run, shoot, duck behind something when your shield is down, shoot more, and run. It's almost as if you're killing time to get to a cut scene. Oh, when you cross this indistinguishable line in the forest, your allies (usually in the air) will fail somehow and you gotta push forward to save your EVAC. Or find more people FOR the EVAC.
Hm. I suppose I'm just completely spoiled by Call of Duty. You're not, exactly, a one-man-army, but you're tagged to do the really important stuff, like blow up that tank forty feet away. Halo, however, makes you feel like you're just there to clear out the scrubs (because I have yet to see something that *really* constitutes a boss battle, and I'm only Halo 3 already), and let the cut scene happen.
Btw, Halo, if I'm such an important person, can I please not have all these random lowbies around me? I really really can't take the hero worship. (Oh, and Cortana's not my type of leading lady... but at least Master Chief likes her....)
The next holiday in WoW is starting Sunday, I believe, and if it's anything like the Valentine's holiday, I will find myself lacking sleep for the duration. As it stands, I've been researching my dual-specs today, with the intent of playing tomorrow. So far, it was really easy to find a Holy spec, which is good, because I'll need it alot for dungeons. But, the Ret spec is a bit tricker, apparently. People only seem to talk about rotation, instead of spec. While I'm sure rotation is quite important (and maybe something I need to work on), I can't investigate a rotation without proper speccing.
Also, organized my Hetalia art folder on my computer.
And, apparently got refunded for the Hetalia cds that were ... either canceled, or no longer carried by HobbyJapan. Lame..
Dan showed up again at work... despite working a whole day at a different store. And apparently, the manager at Parsippany quit recently, because he was held up at gunpoint. Yikes. And DAN wants to become the manager of that store. A-Augh. Even with all my complaining about him, and how I really hated him for a while there, I don't want him to go to a dangerous place like that. I mean... uhm, he's already been in war (as in, like REAL WAR WITH SHOOTING), and is pretty tough when it comes to threats... employees of Gamestops are about as safe as convenience store workers most of the time. And being put into a store that has a history of gunpoint robberies worries me for him (2 gun-point robberies in 6 months... ack)
Plus, I'm falling into that trap of worrying about 'if Dan does leave, will the store really fall apart?' ... especially since Marc seems to be in the mindset recently that he doesn't have to put lots of extra hours into the store. Of course, he's actively looking for another job anyway. Hm, I'll end up being the SGA for a new manager and assistant manager if this keeps up. While that may be okay, it makes me nervous, because we're a pretty lax group of people when you get down to it.
So, I became a complete loser and ordered a guild shirt for both my paladin and my rogue. Yarp. Honestly, my hunter isn't IN a guild, so that's the only reason Kael'thunas didn't get the joy of being t-shirt'd.
Trying to read through Watchmen because Andrew let me borrow it, but it's incredibly slow-going. The characters are... mostly retired Heroes or fallen out of grace, and... while I want to like Rorschach, I'm shallowly creeped out by him. But, I want to read through it because lots of people like his character, and I wanna be well-rounded in what I read. (Though, really, DC on the whole is so boring....)
Kinda wish the Japanese would put out another horror game that actually comes out State-side. I don't want to have to get a Japanese 360 you guys >8|
I know I should end this entry with something... interesting, but for the life of me, I cannot! So, I will simply state that Freidrich II could speak French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian; he also understood Latin, ancient and modern Greek, and Hebrew. Happy fact of the day!
